Arizona Gardening Resources
This is the more practical part two of my Arizona gardening post. Listed below in no particular order are my favorite resources to turn to when I had a dilemma and felt the need for some outside help or ideas.
Extension office and website: https://extension.arizona.edu/maricopa
vegetable planting chart: https://extension.arizona.edu/sites/extension.arizona.edu/files/pubs/az1005.pdf
Magazines: Sunset, Gardenista, PH&G
Summer Winds Nursery -classes
http://www.amwua.org/plants - for identifying plants or researching new ones I might want to use.
Garden.org - another less local but more extensive plant database
DIG (Desert Institute of Gardening) classes, free at the library
Gardens to visit: Desert Botanical Gardens, Saguaro Ranch Park and Main Library, Japanese Friendship Garden, Phoenix Temple Grounds
There are a lot more amazing gardens to visit that are open to the public, but these are just the ones that I managed to make it to with my little ones in tow. I always enjoy a good visit to a garden to see how other people work with what they have been given.
